Understanding the Struggle - 1 John 2:15-17

In this passage, world means an organized system controlled by ungodly powers that stands against the Kingdom of God
First step in understanding temptation is understanding the things of the worldly system are not the things of the kingdomThe lust of the flesh is the pull toward something the world tells me will make me feel good, even if it does not honor GodThe lust of the eyes is the pull toward something that is appealing visually in a way that does not honor GodThe pride in one's lifestyle is the pull toward making yourself the greatest of anyone around you including GodSecond step in understanding temptation is understanding you will be tempted in these waysThird step in understanding temptation is knowing the pleasure of temptation is temporary but the blessings of God are eternal
